Blank Canvas strips everything but the player. All data stays local. Free.
I built Series because I kept opening YouTube to watch one thing and losing 40 minutes to the feed. The problem isn't self-control. The homepage is literally designed to keep you scrolling. Thumbnails, clickbait, and hundreds of options all screaming at once.
So I tried the opposite. What if you only ever saw one video at a time? No grid. Just the description of what's in front of you. Watch it or pass.
The first version just hid the feed. But I noticed I'd still bail 5 minutes into a good video and go browsing. So I added Strict Mode. Once you commit to a video, you can't leave within YouTube. The back button, refresh, and even retyping the URL all pull you back. There's still a "Give Up" button, but it resets your streak 😅
Along the way, it grew a few more features. It ranks series and long-form videos higher, learns from what you actually finish versus skip, hides Shorts, and includes a Blank Canvas mode that strips everything except the player.
