Seoulvivor is a survival roleplay game for speaking Korean out loud. You talk to AI-played Seoul locals — a taxi driver overcharging you, an immigration officer deciding your fate — and an AI examiner grades your listening and speaking, TOPIK-style. Progress from tourist visa (D-1) to permanent residency (F-X) across 126 scenarios. New scenarios drop monthly, over the air. Free to try: 3 quests a day. Premium with a 7-day free trial.
Hi PH! I'm Jamie, a solo developer in Seoul.
I built Seoulvivor because textbook Korean collapses the moment a taxi meter is running. Every language app taught me to read; nothing taught me to argue, apologize, or beg a landlord in real time.
So I made it a game: an AI plays the ajumma / officer / pharmacist, you speak out loud, and an AI examiner grades you like a driving test. The whole app is styled as a Republic of Korea passport dossier — you earn visas, stamps, and brutally honest report cards.
Everything — design, Swift code, backend, all 126 scenarios — is built by one person. AMA about solo dev, real-time voice AI, or why "저기요" once ended an entire conversation (a real bug, now fixed).
