Hey everyone, I'm Jerry, the creator of Selfie Gate.
I met my wife by talking to her on the street. Some of the most meaningful relationships in my life started because I stepped outside my comfort zone and talked to a stranger.
At the same time, I kept hearing friends complain about dating app fatigue, doomscrolling, and spending hours on TikTok without really intending to. Many wanted more real-world connection but struggled to take that first step.
With Selfie Gate, you choose the apps you want to limit and earn time back through real-world selfie challenges. The goal isn't to eliminate technology or shame people for using social media. It's to create a small moment of friction that nudges you back into the real world.
While testing the app, I ended up having conversations with strangers, hearing unexpected life stories, and making connections I never would have had otherwise.
