We built beacon-mc.io to make running a Minecraft server with friends easy. From setting it up to getting everyone into the game (Invite links, custom domains, Microsoft auth, etc).
There’s a lot around that simple goal: server configuration, backups, matching mods, and helping friends get the right version installed. I wanted those pieces to work together while keeping the world on hardware you control.
That shaped Beacon into more than a server dashboard: - One command installs the server, dashboard, backups, mod management, and live 3D map. - A companion launcher handles game versions and mod syncing so friends can hit Play. - Servers stay private by default, with optional discovery through Beacon Atlas.
The guiding idea became making both sides easier: hosting the world and joining it.
Beacon is in alpha and free to run. I’d love to hear from people who’ve hosted Minecraft server!
