Google Analytics stops at the website door. seenbase tracks everything it can't: email opens, PDF reads, CV and proposal views, LinkedIn links, even a README badge — anywhere an image fits. You see who opened, when, where, and which company they're on (via network/ASN). Repeat opens are the signal a deal is moving. No cookies, no consent banner, no JavaScript. IPs are hashed, never stored raw — GDPR-friendly by design. On Cloudflare's edge. Sixty seconds to set up. Free for 1,000 opens/month.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Seenbase started as an internal tool for my own team. I work in SEO, and we publish a lot of guest posts — plus we're always hunting for platforms where we can create our own pages. Two questions kept nagging me:
- Is there actually real traffic on these pages?
- Or is it just bots?
I couldn't get a straight answer from any existing tool, so I built one on top of an earlier tracking script I had. It's dead simple: a tracking pixel — a 1×1 image — that you drop wherever you want to know if something got opened.
I built it for that one narrow job, but once it worked I realized the range is huge. It's basically mini-analytics through an image. It works anywhere you can embed a picture that the platform doesn't cache on its own CDN: a CV, an email, a Word doc, a Google Sheet, a PDF, a GitHub .md file, a slide deck, a landing page you don't control.
You see the open in your dashboard within a minute — when, where, and which company the network belongs to. Repeat opens from the same place are the real signal.
Two things I cared about:
- Privacy that isn't an afterthought. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no consent banner. IPs are hashed, never stored raw. It runs on Cloudflare's edge.
- Honesty about what it's not. It won't replace GA4 or Plausible for deep website sessions and funnels — those are great at that. seenbase is for the blind spots they can't reach: the files and pages where you have no idea if there's traffic at all.
Free for your first 1,000 opens a month.
I'd genuinely love to hear: where have you wished you could tell whether a file or page was actually being opened? Feedback on the pixel very welcome — I'm here all day. 🙏
