Our inspiration comes directly from a key finding in the research paper "Humans in the Group, Computers in the Coop" by Natali and colleagues from 2026. The paper says that collective intelligence still outperforms individual intelligence, even when that individual is supported by AI. We are building this platform to solve the problem of isolated AI interaction. Most current tools focus on a single user with an AI assistant. While this does boost individual performance, the research also shows that deliberation with peers is still the most powerful booster of human performance. Our goal is to move beyond the single user setup and create a space where students can actually tap into their full potential through collaboration. Instead of just asking an AI alone, students can: - Invite peers to any research session - Share and debate AI generated insights in real time - Use the AI as an extra team member rather than the main decision maker The paper highlights that groups relied less on AI and used it more critically. That is a big deal for students. In a collaborative setting, they can: - Cross check AI outputs with each other, which reduces the risk of blindly trusting the machine - Combine different perspectives to build a deeper and richer understanding than any one person could manage alone - Develop critical thinking by actively discussing and questioning what the AI suggests within a team Ultimately, we are creating a tool that harnesses the proven power of collective intelligence. It helps students not just receive answers, but actually build knowledge together. That makes them smarter than either they or the AI could ever be on their own.
