Seamside
Build together on your own devices. No servers, no accounts.
Seamside is a creative workspace made of nothing but your own devices. Spaces, live-syncing tables, and sandboxed micro-apps ("frames") sync directly between members and stay encrypted on your hardware. No cloud, no signup, no storage plans.
Hi PH 👋
The internet got centralized, boring, and extractive. We wanted the opposite: something more like a potluck — everyone brings a dish, everyone shares, nobody owns the room.
Seamside is a workspace where every byte lives on the machines of the people using it. Open a space (a shared canvas), press Cmd+K, and drop in a frame — a little sandboxed app. Notes, whiteboards, chat, games, or one you build yourself in the built-in Frame Workshop (with AI help, if you want it).
What makes it different:
* No server, no account. Your identity is a keypair on your own machine. Pick a name and you're in.
* Peer-to-peer + offline-first. CRDTs over direct encrypted connections. Keep working on a plane; it reconciles when you're back.
* Share to anyone. Flip on public sharing and a frame or whole space opens in any browser — no install for the visitor. Flip it off and the door closes on the next request.
* Frames travel. Move a running frame — data folder and all — to another of your devices, and every share link keeps resolving. Mark a frame CC0 and anyone in the space can clone it and remix it.
* Always-on, if you want it. The same binary runs headless on a 512 MB VPS. Zero inbound ports, one-line install, signed self-updates with automatic rollback.
It's free, on Mac / Windows / Linux, with mobile coming. Built by two of us over the past year at Small Craft. We'd genuinely love your feedback — especially the weird frames you make.

the fact that it syncs straight between devices without any signup kind of surprised me, like everything just shows up instantly. honestly the sandboxed frames thing feels pretty clever for keeping stuff isolated.

Who hunted Seamside?
Seamside was hunted by Adam Kumpf. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
