The story: We started as a simple screenshot API — send a URL, get an image. But our users kept asking the same question: "You can already see the page... can you watch it for us?" That question became Screenshotly 2.0.
What's new in 2.0:
-Website Monitoring with Visual Change Detection Point us at any URL and we'll capture it on your schedule. Every run is pixel-compared against your accepted baseline — when something changes, you get a highlighted diff image, the exact change percentage, and an instant alert. Layout broke? New banner appeared? Content vanished? You'll know before your users do.
-Batch Captures with ZIP Export Hundreds of URLs in one request. Live per-URL progress, partial failures never block the rest, everything downloads as a neatly ordered ZIP.
-Signed Webhooks Get notified the moment a render finishes, a batch completes, or a monitor detects a change. Every payload is HMAC-SHA256 signed with automatic retries — CI-ready out of the box.
-API v2 — async & developer-first Job-based rendering with idempotency keys (retry safely, never duplicate work), scoped API keys, cursor pagination, PDF & WebP output, device presets, custom cookies/headers/HTTP auth, and timezone emulation.
-Transparent usage — real-time metering for screenshots, AI analysis and monitors, always visible against your plan.
Backwards compatible: existing API keys and all v1 endpoints keep working. Migration is literally "do nothing."
