Hey! I'm not a native English speaker, so my writing isn't always perfect. At some point, my most-used prompt for AI became "rewrite this text, fix all mistakes, and make it sound natural." However, the process of opening a chat, asking for a rewrite, then copying and pasting back into Slack took too long. I wanted a quicker solution. So I created an app for myself that rewrites any selected text with a simple Control+R.
It runs in the menu bar and offers a subscription option. Alternatively, you can use your personal API keys for your preferred AI provider and pay them directly, paying fraction of what other writing apps ask for.
This looks genuinely useful having a writing partner just a shortcut away feels like a smooth upgrade to the workflow. Curious to see how people start using it day-to-day.
This is super useful! I totally relate to the copy-paste workflow pain. Congrats on the launch!
This app is a game-changer. No more copying and pasting between different AI providers. Everything I need is now in a single command. It’s become essential to my work.
Yay, Scraib instantly became part of my workflow. I write a lot across different apps, and having a quick rewrite shortcut that adapts to my tone is priceless. Huge congrats to you @alikimovich — this feels like one of those small tools that make a big impact. ❤️
Writing elegantly kills my brain. Scraib is just the must-have for frequent writers. Can it memorize personal writing style?
TBH, I can’t imagine my life without this tool now. Convenient and simple!
Control+R to clean up text anywhere is neat. I’m always patching Slack/Notion blurts, so a tiny menu bar helper fits. English isn’t my first language, so this hits. BYO API key is nice for costs. Curious about latency on bigger chunks. Installing for email drafts.
What stands out to me is how lightweight this feels. I am someone who dislikes opening multiple apps for one small task. this keeps everything within reach and that appeals to my style. It would help me maintain focus when writing longer pieces
English is not my first language, so I understand the struggle the maker shared. I often second guess my tone and clarity. A quick rewrite tool inside the system would help me stay confident in my writing. The approach seems simple but suprsingly powerful.
Thats really cool , definitely has some synergy with @SourcePIlot . Great launch today!
There are days when my English feels off and I need quick help. Something that sits in the menu bar and rewrites text instantly makes sense to me. I like the option of using my own API key because it keeps costs predictable. This could fit nicely with my daily writing.
writing inside diffrent t apps often slows me down because I keep switching between tools. This idea feels helpful because I can fix my text without leaving the place I am working in. I like how simple the shortcut is and it matches how my workflow already works. It would save me from a lot of small mistakes.
Amazing! Does it work with all the apps on Mac? This is really cool. Congrats on the launch!
This is so good @alikimovich I'm constantly jumping between apps to rewrite stuff and it's annoying. Finally something that just works where I need it without all the hassle.
Good luck, Andrei! I will try to rewrite my messages, especially when I am in an angry mood 😁!
What advantage does Scraibapp have over Grammarly, for example? Btw, the examples on the demo are hilarious!
