I built Score Drummer because I wanted to practice my favorite songs, but none of the apps I tried had them in their catalog.
I realized the real problem wasn’t finding an app with a bigger catalog. It was having to depend on a catalog at all.
Score Drummer is not meant to replace learning apps with ready-made lessons and exercises. Those are probably the best place to start, especially for beginners.
But once you have some confidence, I think practice becomes more motivating when you can work on songs, exercises, or scores you actually care about.
That is the idea behind Score Drummer: connect your electronic drums, import a MIDI or Guitar Pro file, play along, and see if your timing is right.
It can also be useful for drum teachers who want to give students custom scores or exercises and let them practice them at home with feedback.
What started as a tool for my own practice eventually became something I thought other drummers and teachers might find useful too.
