I built ScanRename because I lived through the pain this tool solves — every single day.
At every company I worked at, I dealt with folders full of files like: "Bank Statement March maybe FINAL.pdf" or "report (2) copy.xlsx" or "USE THIS ONE.docx."
In treasury and lending, messy filenames aren't just annoying — they're a real risk. Wrong file sent to a lender? Damaged relationship. Missing document during an audit? Compliance issue and an angry boss. Twenty minutes spent searching for the right version? This would drive crazy!
So I built something about it. It took me months to figure it all out. I do know that there are other fancier file rename apps out there but they were pricey and have overly complicated user interfaces. I wanted an entry-level app.
ScanRename uses Claude AI to suggest clean, professional filenames instantly. You can also add owner labels — so when you're processing 50 borrower documents, every file gets tagged with the right person's name.
