I built saveas.md out of sheer frustration with my daily workflow.
My corporate clients and executives demand reviewing and redlining everything in Microsoft Word (.docx). But my actual knowledge base, technical documentation, and publishing pipelines (Obsidian, Hugo, GitHub Docs) live exclusively in Markdown (.md).
Every single week, I was stuck manually reformatting broken Word tables, stripping messy HTML spans, or risking confidential client NDAs by uploading documents to unvetted online converter websites.
So I built the tool Word should have had decades ago:
