Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Aashmiin — 19, first-year student at SMU Singapore,
and I built Sarathy because I walked into DBS on my first
week here and felt completely alone.
No one explained PayNow. No one explained Wise. No one
acknowledged that I had just left my family in India to
start over in a country where everything — including the
money — works differently.
So I interviewed 26 people across 4 countries before
writing a single line of code. A Vietnamese student who
survived her first semester through informal peer currency
swaps she invented herself. An NRI who has been in
Singapore 8 years and never knew about 0% capital gains
tax. A Delhi businessman making the biggest financial
decision of his life with no one genuinely on his side.
Every one of them said the same thing in different words:
money is emotional, and every existing app ignores that
completely.
That is what Sarathy is built to fix.
It is not a budgeting dashboard. It is a companion that
asks how you are feeling before showing you numbers. That
gives you one clear next step — not ten overwhelming
options. That acknowledges you just left home.
