Veera here, founder of SageRank.
Honestly this started from frustration. I kept seeing businesses do everything right on SEO, rank page one on Google, and still be completely invisible the moment someone asked ChatGPT or Perplexity about their industry instead. Google's own AI Overviews would just... cite someone else. Nobody was really tracking that.
My background is IT and cybersecurity, not marketing, so my first instinct was "okay, this is a monitoring problem, let's just track when and how AI engines mention a brand." That became VisibilityEngine.
But while building it I kept running into the flip side: the same AI crawlers that decide whether to cite you are also scraping everything on your site, and most sites have zero visibility into that either. So the project grew from "just track citations" into also covering that exposure side, which became ShieldAI. That's basically why SageRank ended up standing for SEO, AEO, GEO, and Security instead of just being another SEO tool with a new name.
Would love to hear from anyone here who runs SEO or marketing and has already noticed traffic shifting away from Google toward AI answers. Happy to answer anything, product, pricing, or how the citation tracking actually works.
