The job market is broken, and that's especially prevalent in tech and media. I've had to say goodbye to so many amazing designers (and humans!) that I thought there has to be some way I can help. That's why I built Roster: to get designers hired.
The work shouldn't land on the job hunter. And even after all of that effort, to be automatically rejected by some AI bot is not only discouraging, it's down right depressing. Roster is made of real people, with real recruiters who can reach out directly.
Designers hop in, create a profile, add their skills and bio, and can create project posts quickly to spin up a high quality, sharable portfolio that is actively being browsed by hiring mangers and recruiters. This puts the pressure less on the job hunter, on more on the recruiter. Today, it's free for everyone, with some limits. It will always be free for designers, but there may be some in-app style options to purchase, fully optional. Furthermore, there may be some fees for recruiters and hiring managers if they want to make more than a set number of connections per month.
We've also implemented a job board, which is completely free until the end of the year. You'll need a recruiter account to post jobs, and the functionality for members to reach out and connect is already built. Users choose between design or recruiter at sign-up, though it's possible for someone to be both (and have both).
