Hi PH — Martin here, I built RoleScouter. The advice everyone gets is to keep your resume updated and stay aware of the market, even when you're not looking. I did that for years. The part it leaves out is the next step: which roles would you actually apply to? Titles are the problem. "Producer" at one studio is "Program Manager" at another and "Delivery Lead" at a third. Searching by title meant scrolling past roles I was a good fit for and opening ones I wasn't. That's not staying aware of the market. That's browsing. RoleScouter flips the input. You upload your resume once, and it scores postings against what's actually on it — skills, seniority, industry, location preference — instead of matching a keyword. You get a fit score per role, so you can spend your applications where you have a real shot. Where it's still rough: source coverage is growing but not complete, and a few ATS platforms return thin descriptions that make scoring less confident. Both are on the list. Would love feedback from anyone who's been on either side of a hiring pipeline — especially cases where the fit score gets it wrong. That's the most useful thing you can tell me.

Who hunted RoleScouter?

RoleScouter was hunted by Martin DeKorte. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
