Hello Product Hunt!
Excited to share Roam Club with the community today. Similar to many of you, I have moved my life to be fully remote – living out of a new city each month. With so much travel, I found it difficult to remember and organize recommendations from my friends. Whether it was a restaurant, bar, cafe, museum, or point of interest, I had disparate Google Map lists, docs, and DMs to recall and sort through.
So I started Roam Club.
What does it do?
Map-first discovery
Roam Club plots all of your friends recommendations ('recs') on a map, making it super convenient to discover your friends favorite places.
Follow anyone for instant access to their recs
Simply follow your friends to see their recs, or add recs of your own for others to discover. Sync your contacts to easily see which of your friends are already active on Roam Club.
Search any city, or search by your location
Any city or town can be searched to see what your friends would recommend doing there. Alternatively, simply turn on location sharing to see things to do in your area.
Hide and show recs with ease
Have a friend that has added an overwhelming number of recs to a city? Quickly hide or show their recs from the side menu, making it easy to manage the number of recs in-front of you.

This might sound familiar to a couple apps that have come before mine (think Step, Swarm, Yelp and more), but I found that these apps leaned more towards being a social network than a utility – armed with a number of social network features that seem to be a bit adjacent to my core need. I'm excited for all of us to offer a little something different, in our own way, to lower the effort of planning a trip or finding the next thing to do.
I'd love to hear what you all think, and I'm looking forward to iterating on your feedback to make Roam Club your must-have app for finding things to do, both at home and abroad. What's next? We're actively working on a way to import your saved places from Google Maps.

Great! I love google maps, and I have tried to do Roam-type recommendations with the lists, but it simply doesn't work as i wanted.
