Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Barkin, founder of Reven. What inspired this: I previously founded Kintsugi, a sales tax company. Spent years watching DTC brands discover nexus exposure the same way every time, a letter from California, a surprise bill from Texas, an acquirer's diligence team finding $200K of liability two weeks before close. The tools that exist today (Avalara, TaxJar) were built for a pre-AI era. They calculate tax on the states you tell them about. They don't proactively flag the states you're about to be in trouble with. That gap eats founders alive. What we're solving: Reven watches your Shopify data continuously and tells you where your exposure is — in real dollar amounts, across all 50 states, before the state finds out. Then it handles registration, filing, and ongoing compliance so your finance team isn't doing it in spreadsheets at midnight. Built for DTC brands doing $3M-$100M GMV. The segment that's too big for "just use Shopify's default" and too small for Avalara's enterprise pricing. How the approach evolved: Started thinking this was a calculation problem. It isn't — it's a visibility problem. Most brands don't need more tax math; they need to know which state is about to send a letter.
