A free, browser-local calculator for physical-goods DTC operators. Enter aggregate economics for one SKU and compare the contribution margin of keeping the sale, refunding, exchanging, or using a returnless resolution. No Shopify login, order upload, card, or automatic charge.
Hi Product Hunt — I built Return Margin around one narrow question: when a physical-goods order comes back, which resolution protects the most contribution margin? The free beta compares keep, refund, exchange, and returnless outcomes for one SKU using aggregate inputs you enter yourself. Inputs and results stay in the current browser tab; there is no Shopify login, order upload, card, or automatic charge. This is decision-support estimation, not accounting, tax, legal, cash-balance, or return-policy advice. Return Margin is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify. I am looking for candid feedback from US-focused physical-goods DTC operators who have handled a real return recently: (1) Which input was hardest to estimate? (2) Did the recommended route match what you would actually do? (3) What would make the result credible enough to use in a real return decision? Critical feedback is more useful than encouragement at this stage.
