I’m excited to share RequestPlayer with you today.
I built RequestPlayer around a simple idea: when people get together, choosing the music should be something everyone can take part in.
Instead of passing one phone around or asking the host to search for every song, RequestPlayer lets guests request and like music directly from their own phones. The host simply creates a room with Apple Music and shares a link or QR code. Guests don’t even need to install the app.
I wanted the experience to feel simple: one person hosts the music, everyone else helps shape what plays.
RequestPlayer also keeps a record of the songs played during the session, so guests can revisit the music afterward and Apple Music users can add songs they discovered to their library.
The app is completely free to use. This is the first release, and I’m looking forward to improving it based on how people actually use it.
