Remindly turns the things you save for later into actionable reminders. Share a job, event, link, screenshot, or message and Remindly extracts the important details, prepares the next steps, and schedules a reminder. Instead of letting bookmarks and screenshots pile up, Remindly helps you remember what you saved and actually act on it.
I started building Remindly after noticing a gap between saving something and actually doing something about it.
We save job posts, events, courses, applications, links, screenshots, and all kinds of other things with the intention of coming back to them later. But “later” often means forgetting where we saved it, remembering too late, or never coming back to it at all.
The obvious solution is to create a reminder, but that introduces another problem. You have to stop what you're doing, switch to another app, work out what the reminder should say, copy the important details, find the date, and set everything up.
I wanted to make that interaction much more natural.
The idea became: **if you already have the information in front of you, why should you have to manually enter it again?**
That's where Remindly came from.
You find something you want to deal with later, share it with Remindly, and it works out the important details and prepares the reminder for you.
The LinkedIn job example became one of the clearest ways to think about the product. You're on your commute, find a job you'd like to apply for, but can't do it right now. Instead of bookmarking it and hoping you'll remember, you share it with Remindly and get a reminder when it matters.
While building it, I kept coming back to one principle: **Remindly shouldn't become another place where things get saved and forgotten. It should help turn saved information into action.**
That's the problem I'm trying to solve, and I'm excited to finally put it in front of people.
