Reindeer is a Cursor-like IDE for databases. It understands your database schema, generates production-ready SQL in seconds, autocompletes, and fixes without ever leaving your IDE.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
Thanks for checking out 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐫
My team and I built Reindeer to solve a problem we kept running into every single day.
For the past year, most of my work revolved around databases and writing SQL queries (a lot, actually). Whenever I switched from writing code to writing queries, my productivity dropped immediately. I had to constantly jump between ChatGPT and my IDE, copy-paste table schemas, and manually write 50–100 lines of SQL.
At some point I caught myself thinking..
Why is there no cursor for databases? 🤔
So we built Reindeer.
Reindeer understands your database schema, generates production-ready SQL in seconds, autocompletes, and fixes without ever leaving your IDE.
and the best part? It's 100% free to get started!

I’ve been using Reindeer at work, and it has significantly improved my productivity. I shared it with friends and colleagues (they loved it), and now we’re excited to share it with the community ❤️
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Does this support all major databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.), or is it limited to specific ones?
Does it learn from my query patterns over time, or is it stateless?
Congrats on @Reindeer ! A "cursor for databases" is brilliant databases are often the most intimidating part of development for non-technical users. Making that conversational changes everything.
From a UX perspective: How did you design the interface to show database relationships visually? Schema complexity can overwhelm users quickly.
Having designed 200+ products over 11+ years including developer tools, that balance between power and simplicity is critical. The AI angle makes this even more interesting. Excited to see adoption!
Congratulations to the Reindeer team on the launch! It’s a great product to start with, and I’m sure you already have plenty of new features in mind to release. My recommendation would be to focus on enhancements like schema management, migrations, and database triggers, rather than adding support for new databases right away.
The feature that allows writing SQL from comments is very useful — it works much like Copilot or Cursor.
Best of luck!
Whenever I switched from writing code to writing queries, my productivity dropped immediately.
This is very true for me as well, and I believe it's a common problem among the engineers. Switching between ChatGPT and IDE and copypasting is annoying.
Huge kudos to the team — excited to see where you take this next.
Congrats on your product launch. Do you guys have a roadmap (especially types of DBs). Also any visualization tools like ERD generation would be awesome too!
Hey team, first, congrats for the launch!
I started to test the tool today, where can I report bugs :) ?
Also, why are you enforcing the usage of cerebras.ai for the AI?
Thank you,
Cool product, congrats on the launch! How does Reindeer protect against hallucinating destructive queries?
I've been using Reindeer for a little while now, and it's been a total game-changer for my development workflow. As someone who deals with complex queries pretty regularly, the schema awareness and SQL generation have been incredibly helpful.
I was wondering if there are any plans to add support for ClickHouse in the future? That would make Reindeer absolutely perfect for my needs.
Love how clean and practical this is. Tools built from real daily pain always turn out the best, and Reindeer looks exactly like that.
Congrats to the whole team. 🥳
Reindeer cuts out one of the constant bottlenecks for someone like me, who is not fast enough to fire off queries all day.
Instead of chasing engineering for simple data pulls, now I can actually trace and understand things on my own. That alone removes so much unnecessary back and forth.
Excited to use it and see the momentum it creates as more teams pick it up.
Hi Product Hunt!
Thrilled to share Reindeer — a Cursor-like experience for databases.
Proud to be part of the team that brought this idea to life and made querying easier.
Thanks for checking us out — we’d love your feedback! 🦌
