Hey Product Hunt, I made RefStage. I'm a software engineer by day, and at night I draw a comic. For years my references were scattered everywhere. Some lived in folders on my Mac, some in my camera roll, some on Pinterest boards I could never find again. When I sat down to draw, I spent more time hunting for the right photo than drawing. So I built the app I wanted. RefStage keeps your whole reference library in one place, on your own device. Point it at the folders you already have and it indexes them where they are. Or import them into the app directly. Version 1.1 just shipped, and it's the biggest update so far: - A built-in browser that collects images from any site as you scroll - Video, 3D models and PDFs sit in the library next to your images - Search your whole library by color - Mood boards with sketching, shapes, connectors and palettes - Study Mode for timed drawing practice, with value tools, grids, streaks, and a count of the references you've never drawn - Pop-out windows on Mac, so a reference can float over your drawing app A few things I care about: there's no account and no subscription, and it works offline. You only pay once ($14.99). It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, with Windows and Linux on the way. It's just me building this, so every piece of feedback goes straight will make its way into the code.
