Reframe is a free, open-source screen recorder and editor for Linux, Windows and macOS. Record your screen, then re-frame it with auto zoom, beautiful backgrounds, annotations and a webcam bubble — then export to MP4, GIF or WebM. No watermark, no account.
I was struggling to find a completely free recording app without a watermark that could record the entire screen, a window, or a specific area — plus a lightweight editor with macOS-style animations.
So I built Reframe.
It’s made for quickly creating social media tutorials and polished product videos without the complexity of a full video editor.
→ Record your entire screen, a window, or any area
→ Custom cursors
→ Backgrounds: images, shaders, gradients & more
→ Webcam bubbles
→ Auto-zoom
→ Spotlight & magnify effects
→ 2D & 3D animations
→ Basic editing like crop, trim & more
The goal: record → add a few effects → export a video that actually looks good.
let me know if you guys need any more features :)

Who hunted Reframe?
Reframe was hunted by Pavan Joshi. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
