redash-mcp
Let Claude query your Redash safely — with SQL guardrails
redash-mcp connects Redash to Claude (Desktop & Code) — ask in plain language and Claude runs SQL, builds dashboards, and sets alerts on your Redash. What's different: a built-in SQL Safety Guard blocks destructive queries (DROP/TRUNCATE, DELETE/UPDATE without WHERE), flags SELECT */missing LIMIT, and detects PII columns — strict/warn/off modes. Point an LLM at production data without flinching. Plus BIRD smart query (auto-picks tables), one-command setup, fully local. 20+ tools. MIT.
Hi PH 👋 I built this because I wanted to ask Claude "how many users signed up this week?" against our Redash — but didn't want an LLM one hallucinated query
away from DROP TABLE. So the core of redash-mcp is the safety layer: it refuses destructive SQL and warns on expensive/PII queries before anything runs.
It's fully local (no middleman server), works with Claude Desktop and Claude Code, and sets up in one command. Would love feedback on the safety rules and
which Redash workflows you'd want next.
