Really Simple Podcast Player
Plays podcasts offline. No account, no ads, no tracking!
Most podcast apps are a streaming catalogue behind a login. This one plays files from a folder you pick, so it works with the network off — plane, car, no signal. Built so a child who can't read can drive it. The shelf is cover art, not menus. Skipping an episode needs a hold, so a stray tap can't lose their place. A PIN guards the volume cap, the folder, and a sleep timer that can't be turned off without it — a bedtime, not a suggestion. No ads, no accounts, no tracking. OPML in and out.
Two things I'd genuinely like to hear:
1. If you've got kids — what do you hand them to listen to, and what breaks about it?
2. If you're here for the offline part rather than the kid part — what does your library actually look like? Ripped audiobooks, asmr sounds, comics, downloaded shows?
3. Do you look for products and software built for families that are privacy first?

Who hunted Really Simple Podcast Player?
Really Simple Podcast Player was hunted by David Iwanow. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
