Most rental platforms try to replace where landlords post — we don't. RealBid is a single link that sits on top of wherever landlords already list: Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, anywhere. Landlords add the link to their existing listing. Tenants click through and place open, visible bids — ranked highest to lowest in real time. No mystery, no inbox flooded with 200 applications, no back-channel negotiating.
I built this as both a landlord and tenant.
As a tenant I would visit 30 showings in a month to try and get an apartment in my new city, and almost always get turned down even though I am very qualified. It was disheartening, and wish I knew if my bid was too low, or why I did not get the place.
As a landlord, I rented out my old condo in another city and priced it too low. I got 400 applications form people desperate to rent and I could not pick someone easily to manage the showings. If they were able to bid and offer a higher price transparently I could have gotten more value and also narrowed down my tenant more easily.
