I'm Raffi, co-founder and CTO of ReadySettlePay.
I didn't start this one. Friends brought me in to build it, and I said yes because of one detail I couldn't stop thinking about: personal injury firms are still mailing paper checks. Every month. In volume.
Here's what actually happens after a case settles. The firm has to disburse from its IOLTA trust account to the client, to every treating provider, to every lien holder. So someone sits down and either writes or prints checks, mails them, then spends weeks chasing which ones landed. Checks get lost. Addresses go stale. And a paper instrument drawn on a trust account is about the softest fraud target you can design. Meanwhile the client, who has been waiting on this money since the accident, waits a few more weeks.
None of that is a legal problem. It's a payments problem that the legal industry never got around to solving.
RSP makes it one flow. The attorney sends a single settlement offer, the client signs once, and every disbursement goes out automatically to the client, the providers, and the lien holders, tracked and reconciled as it goes.
