Hi PH! 👋 Makers here, launching Readever today. We built Readever because “AI for reading” often means summaries after the fact, but the real pain is getting stuck while reading. Readever helps you read inside the text:
1. In-Context Q&A: Highlight any sentence while reading and ask questions where you’re stuck without leaving the page. 2. Proactive Reading Guidance: It adapts to your goals and level, proactively showing Highlight Cards so you get help even when you don’t know what to ask. 3. 5,000+ AI Reading Mentors: Read with thinkers, founders, writers, and historians. Ask them questions or let mentors debate to reveal different perspectives. 4. Built-in Translation: Read across languages without breaking your flow. 5. AI Book-Finding Agent: Describe what you want in natural language and get book recommendations tailored to your taste and intent. Readever is your next Knowledge Curator. 6. Memory system: Readever keeps you inside the text with fewer interruptions and faster comprehension, from the first page to the next book.
Readever isn’t for passive reading, it’s for understanding. And yes, it’s totally free on the web!!!
Wow, Readever looks incredible! The co-reading with historical figures is such a unique concept. Im curious, how does the system handle different interpretations of the text being read?
Great, now I can have 10 voices in my head while I'm reading instead of just one.
Cool project — especially helpful for people with ADHD (it's me!) 🥲
I love the built-in translation and the ability to ask questions while reading. With ADHD I get distracted really fast: I google something or open ChatGPT and never come back to the book... This solves that problem really nicely.
Very good idea! Could you allow selecting an industry so it recommends CEOs from my field? Often we only know the famous people, like Elon Musk, but not all CEOs even within our own industry. It would be great to choose industries and specific people whose opinions are interesting.
Hi, beautiful product. The layout is attractive, technically it seems to be working, the idea is appealing to me because I like reading and discussing, however I wonder about some aspects of the project.
I red 'Sapiens' with Trump. The comments appeared in a big delayed I already gave up but then left the tab open and when revisited I saw them. The LLM logic needs an improvement as the context is missing. "Trump" comments essentially jeopardize the reading experience (well, in the case of trump it could be realistic). You can maybe try to improve the context of the comments by training them on the summary of the book while encouraging typical but relevant comments during training. The ability to conduct a true dialogue with the persona would be even harder to create but I think its worth pursuing. It could be nice to have a discussion or be teached by some personality (Aristole), that was Steve Jobs vision for AI. Is it legal to use someones proclaimed personality or opinions? maybe the LLM does not truly refelct the person's perspective. Overall I like the idea, well done and I wish you the best of luck.
Love the idea, congratulations! Do users tend to stick with one persona per book, or switch between different perspectives while reading?
Hi, i wanted to say that this product is truly great, but then i realised that this doesnt have voices of great people as u said, if just this feature is added i PROMISE u that this becomes something GREAT!!!
This is such a cool idea! Love the concept of reading with different "mentors" and the in-context Q&A. Congrats on the launch!
How do you ensure accuracy when the AI comments on complex topics like economics, philosophy, or science?
Congrats! The free Pro offer for early users + feedback is a nice touch. Going to test it and share thoughts.
I liked how the AI only stepped in when something genuinely needed clarification.
The contextual notes helped me understand ideas I normally would have skipped.
