Hi Product Hunt! 👋 Maker here. I built ReadYourScan after seeing the same scene over and over in patient communities: someone posts a photo of their MRI report and asks "can anyone tell me what this means?" — because the radiologist's language is impenetrable and the next doctor's appointment is weeks away. What it does: 🧠 Upload your MRI, CT or X-ray (DICOM files, straight from the CD/USB the clinic gave you) and see it as an interactive 3D volume — right in the browser, nothing to install. 📄 Upload your radiologist's report (text or PDF) and the AI maps every finding onto the scan and explains it in plain language. This part is completely free. 🔒 Privacy first: identifying DICOM tags (name, IDs, dates) are stripped in your browser before anything is uploaded. Share a private link with your doctor or family — they see the images and findings, never your personal details. 🌍 Works in 9 languages, including Arabic. What it's not: a diagnosis. It helps you understand what's already written in your report and arrive at your appointment with better questions — it doesn't replace your doctor. I'd love your feedback, especially on the report-explanation flow — that's the part I've obsessed over most. If you have an old scan lying around on a CD somewhere, today is the day to finally look at it. 🙂 Happy to answer anything!

Loading my actual knee MRI in the browser and being able to spin it around without installing anything still feels a bit like magic. The plain-language AI summary sitting right next to the 3D viewer is a really thoughtful touch.

Finally tried this with my old knee MRI and the 3D viewer actually loaded in chrome without any fuss. The plain language summary caught a detail my original report phrased in a way I never understood, kind of a nice gut check.

finally something like this, uploaded an old knee MRI and the 3D viewer was surprisingly smooth right in chrome. the plain language summary actually made sense, which honestly i was not expecting

Love this idea, especially mapping the radiologist report onto the actual images. One thing I'd find really useful is the ability to compare two scans side by side, like a current MRI next to a previous one, so I can actually see changes over time instead of just reading the reports.

Being able to compare two scans side by side in the 3D viewer would be really useful, like an older MRI next to a newer one so you can actually see what changed over time.

Been wanting something like this for a while, the 3D viewer alone is already great. One thing that would really help me though is being able to compare two scans side by side, like an old MRI and a new one, so I can actually see what changed over time instead of squinting at separate windows.

Finally a clean way to look at my own scans without begging the radiology office. The 3D viewer actually loaded on my laptop in seconds, which I did not expect for a free browser tool.

Would love to see a side-by-side comparison view if you have multiple scans of the same body part over time, so you can spot changes yourself before talking to your doctor. That would make the "keep every exam in one place" promise way more useful.

Finally something like this for patients, actually pretty cool. Dragged in an old knee MRI and could spin it around in my browser without installing anything weird. Wish the AI explanation went a bit deeper on the findings but still way better than squinting at the disc the radiology office gave me.
