re:note is a free notepad that lives in Chrome's side panel. Write a note on any web page and it stays attached to that page, so your notes are waiting when you come back. Rich editor, to-do lists, reminders, color-coded stacks, optional on-page highlights, PIN lock and CSV export. Notes stay on your device: no account, no cloud, and no site access at install.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Semin. I built re:note because every note I took while browsing ended up in an app I never opened again. re:note keeps the note next to the page it is about: open the side panel on any site and the notes you wrote there are already waiting.
Three decisions I would love feedback on:
1. Page-attached by default. "This Page" is the first tab and "All Notes" is the second. Does that match how you look for notes?
2. Local-only. No account and no sync. It is private, but it is single-device. Is that a dealbreaker for you?
3. No site access at install. Most note and highlight extensions ask to read and change data on all websites. re:note installs with no site access, and highlighting is an opt-in permission you can switch off again.
It is free, and everything is unlocked. What would it take for this to replace whatever you use now?
