I'm Ega, solo maker behind Ravenote.
Short version of why I built it: I finished a lot of Udemy courses and somehow remembered almost none of it a week later. Same with YouTube deep-dives. I kept making Notion docs full of notes I never reopened.
Ravenote is a Chrome extension that turns passive watching into actual learning:
• Auto-captures the transcript from Udemy + YouTube (no copy-paste)
• Generates structured notes with key terms bolded + "Key Takeaways"
• Extracts the core concepts from each lecture into a spaced-repetition system (SM-2) that quizzes you days later on what you were about to forget
• Optional "active" mode: when you rewind a section, it offers a clearer explanation unprompted
A few design calls worth naming:
→ BYOK by default - bring your own OpenRouter key, we never touch your API bill. Or pay $9 one-time for a real Lifetime plan that unlocks generation credits with no key required.
→ Privacy-first - transcripts go only to the AI provider you chose. Notes live on your device. Usage analytics are anonymous.
→ No subscription trap - Lifetime means lifetime. Pro ($5/mo) exists for people who want the credits without the key-management.
