Most AI character apps are text chatbots. Ravecho is voice-first. Talk with Lincoln, Einstein, Cleopatra and more, each built from biographies, writings, speeches, and historical records. Try AI Dinner Party and seat up to five historical figures at one table. Watch them argue! Free in your browser, no signup required. Historical figures are just the beginning. Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Tim.
For the last 20 years I've worked in film, television, games, and interactive experiences, creating characters people connect with. A few years ago I started wondering:
What if you could stop watching characters and start talking with them?
That's what became Ravecho.
Today, you can have spoken conversations with some of history's most fascinating people. Ask Einstein to explain relativity like you're five. Ask Abraham Lincoln about the weight of leadership. Ask Cleopatra how she wants history to remember her.
But Ravecho isn't just another AI chat app.
Every character is built from biographies, writings, speeches, and historical records, then brought to life with conversational AI and voice technology. The goal isn't to generate answers. It's to create the feeling of sitting across from someone and having a genuine conversation.
A few things people seem to love:
🎭 AI Dinner Party: Put up to five historical figures around the same table and listen as the conversation unfolds. Tesla and Edison still can't agree on much.
🎓 Learning through conversation: History becomes a lot more memorable when you're asking the questions yourself.
🎙️ Natural voice interaction: Speak naturally and hear responses back in real time.
But the feature I'm most excited about isn't actually the historical figures.
It's where this technology can go next.
One day, I want future generations to be able to sit down and hear the stories, memories, and personality of their family. Grandchildren asking questions their grandparents never got the chance to answer. Family stories that don't disappear when someone is gone.
The historical figures are the beginning.
The bigger vision is preserving conversations that matter.
Ravecho is completely free to try, runs in your browser, requires no signup.
I'd love your feedback, ideas, and questions. I'll be here all day.
Cheers,
Tim
Love the voice-first idea and the AI Dinner Party sounds like a blast. One thing that would make it stickier for me is letting users pause a conversation and pick it back up later from where it left off, so each historical figure remembers what we talked about before instead of resetting every session.
Really cool concept, love that I can jump in without signing up. One thing I'd love to see is the option to upload a short clip or bio about a relative and have Ravecho turn them into a voice persona too, so you could actually "talk" to grandma at the family dinner party alongside the historical figures. That would make the family tree vision feel way more real.
