Here’s the story behind it.
I was about to email a founder/investor about something new I was building, and I froze. It wasn’t the pitch that stopped me. I had no idea who I was writing to. What would get his attention? Was he blunt or warm? Did he want data, a story, or two lines?
I realized the real problem wasn’t writing. It was that I didn’t know his personality. The usual fix is stalking someone’s tweets, posts and interviews for hours and guessing. So I built a small script that reads someone’s public footprint and infers how they think and communicate.
I ran it on him, rewrote my pitch to fit, and sent it. He replied in 2 minutes.
That’s when I knew this wasn’t just a script. It’s what I wish I’d had every time I had to cold-reach someone. Rapportive is that script turned into a product: drop in a lead or a name, and it tells you who they are and how to talk to them, so you can write something that lands instead of staring at a blank draft.
