RandomTyms
Lokesh & Varsha | Built on one phone. Powered by curiosity.
RandomTyms is built and run entirely solo, from a single smartphone — using Grok for AI visuals, Claude for scripting, and InShot for editing. No studio, no team. Two original characters, Lokesh (8) and Varsha (13), teach science, digital ethics, and English through short Tanglish (Tamil-English) videos — reflecting how bilingual families actually speak. MeitY ISEA 2025 award winner. Approved Tenor Content Partner. 180+ videos produced to date.
I'm Ganga, solo creator of RandomTyms. After my time at TCS, I started RandomTyms as a small hobby to create the kind of educational content I wanted for my own children. It's now a complete AI-animated education brand — designed, animated, and shipped from my smartphone.
🎥 Here's a quick video of me introducing RandomTyms and how it's built: https://youtu.be/wO5Du2kL7fQ (in my style 🙏)
It started because my own two kids needed glasses from a young age, and I wanted content that reflects how we actually live and talk — mixing Tamil-speaking characters (both wearing glasses too) who now teach science, digital safety, and English in Tanglish.
The whole pipeline is just three tools: Grok for visuals, Claude for scripting and strategy, and InShot for editing. No studio, no team — just one phone and a lot of iteration.
Thank you so much for being our very first upvote! 👦👧 It means the world to an independent creator pulling this entire project together from a single smartphone here in Chennai. Your early support gives Lokesh, Varsha, and me a massive boost today! 🚀
Hey everyone 👋
I’m sharing RandomTyms here not really as a product, but as a use case — what’s possible when you create kids’ educational content entirely on a smartphone using AI.
I made short Tanglish animated stories with two siblings, Lokesh and Varsha, to teach science, ethics, and English in a simple, relatable way. Everything from the visuals to the scripts is done on one phone.
Would love to know what you think — especially if you’ve experimented with AI tools for creative work. Any feedback is appreciated!

Who hunted RandomTyms?
RandomTyms was hunted by Ganga Ponnu . A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
