Ranbval is a zero-knowledge vault for API keys. Encrypt secrets at rest with AES-256-GCM, decrypt only in memory, route outbound calls through a secure proxy, and watch a live audit trail. Open SDKs for Python and Node.js.
I built Ranbval after accidentally leaking an API key in a GitHub repository—a mistake many developers make at least once.
The goal was straightforward: ensure secrets never exist in plaintext. Ranbval encrypts everything at rest using AES-256-GCM, decrypts secrets only in memory, and routes outbound requests through a secure proxy so API keys never end up in `.env` files, source code, or commits.
I recently added origin-level controls and local/repository-level restrictions for even tighter access management.
