Hey Product Hunt! 👋🚤 I’m the founder of RaftOff Social, and I’m excited to finally share something I’ve been putting a ton of time and effort into building! The idea came from spending time out on the water and realizing there really wasn’t one platform that brought the entire boating community together. Sure, there are navigation apps, social media platforms, and boating groups, but nothing that really combines all of it into one experience. That’s what inspired me to create RaftOff Social. I wanted to build something where boaters could connect with each other, discover new spots on the lake, organize raft-ups, join communities, share their adventures, and stay informed about what’s happening around them. As development progressed, the vision got even bigger. We’ve added customizable profiles, achievements, challenges, hazard reporting, events, and even an Ice Mode for ice fishing and winter activities. What started as an idea for Lake St. Clair in Michigan has turned into something I eventually want to bring to every lake across the country. I’m building this independently, learning and improving things along the way, and I’m genuinely excited to see where it goes. The app is nearly ready for its official launch, and I’d love to hear feedback from this community! If you’re into boating, fishing, or spending time on the water, what features would you want to see in an app like this? Thanks for checking out RaftOff Social! 🌊 https://raftoffsocial.com

Who hunted RaftOff Social?

RaftOff Social was hunted by Corey Johnson. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
