Hey PH, I built R1 because I wanted the thing LinkedIn was supposed to be: a place where your profile is actually yours, recruiters can share you with a single link, and nobody in between can read your messages. The whole thing is built so that the platform can't read your messages, can't train on your data, and can't hold your profile hostage. I'd love feedback on the crypto and the zero-login share protocol. Try it here: recruiter1.io
Here's what it does:
- Recruiter shares a link → hiring manager is in.No login. No portal. The link expires, has a viewer cap, and the first device gets a trust phrase. It's access control that doesn't suck.
- Chat is end-to-end encrypted. Like, actually. AES-256 on device, X25519 per device, server can't read it. Not a privacy policy — math.
- Candidates get AI-matched jobs and per-role resume tailoring. One profile, infinite versions. No more sending the same generic PDF everywhere.
- There's a candidate network with encrypted DMs. This is the part LinkedIn killed — real peer-to-peer conversation that isn't a sales pitch.
Tried it out and the single-link sharing feels really clean, no logins or weird redirects. Curious how the crypto actually holds up once it scales past early adopters, but the end-to-end messaging pitch is what got me to stick around.
One small thing that would help a lot: when a recruiter shares a candidate's link, it'd be great to see a short preview of what fields the candidate has filled out before I click through. Right now I have to open the link to know if it's even relevant to my role, and that friction means I skip a lot of shares. A quick glance at role, location, and years of experience on the share page itself would make the whole loop way smoother for both sides.
the privacy angle here is genuinely interesting, especially the no-login share thing. one thing i'd want as a candidate though is some kind of read receipt or basic activity signal on my profile, like knowing when a recruiter actually opened it or shared it further. right now you basically send your info into the void and have no idea if anyone's engaging with it. would help close the loop without compromising the end-to-end encryption story
One thing that would make this way more useful for people like me: let me create a permanent shareable link that shows my latest role and skills without requiring the viewer to log in or download anything. Right now I have to send recruiters into the app which adds friction before they even see my actual experience.
The end-to-end encryption angle is what got me to actually click through, and the share link flow is refreshingly simple. Curious how you plan to handle spam if recruiters can't be blocked from the user side.
