Hey Product Hunt,
I put out the first version of QuitVape about 10 months ago. It worked, but honestly, it looked like a weekend project, because that's what it was. Stock components, no real thought put into the design, a UI that got the numbers on screen and stopped there.
This is the rebuild.
I quit vaping myself a while back, and the thing I kept wanting from a tracker wasn't just a counter, it was something to do in the ten seconds when a craving actually hits, before it turns into "just this one." So the core of the app is still: track your smoke-free days, see the money add up, watch a rough health-progress number climb, but I also built out a breathing exercise (the "Puff" screen) specifically for that moment, instead of just logging it after the fact.
What actually changed since the first launch:
- A real design pass. Dark theme, consistent cards, one visual language across every screen instead of five different ideas.
- Premium, for the first time, $29.99/year or $59.99 once. The core tracking, breathing exercise, and achievements stay free either way; Premium is there for people who want to support the app long-term, not a gate on the basic loop.
- Data stays on your device. Everything's stored locally, no cloud sync, no analytics, no third-party tracking. The only thing Firebase touches is optional login, never your quit data.
I'm not a doctor and this isn't a medical app, it's a tracking and motivation tool meant to sit alongside whatever else is actually working for you, not replace it.
What I'd genuinely love feedback on:
1. If you've tried to quit vaping or smoking, what made you stop checking a tracking app? I want to know what QuitVape is missing before I build the wrong next feature.
2. Does the breathing exercise actually feel useful in the moment, or does it feel like a gimmick bolted onto a stats app?
3. Anything about the free/Premium split that feels off, I'd rather hear it now than guess.
