I’m Pawel, an indie iOS developer since 2012, a father of four, and a sports enthusiast.
QuietCam is my newest project, inspired by an idea I first explored back in 2014 when I released one of the earliest black screen recording apps. Over the years, I kept improving the concept, and QuietCam is the most polished version yet.
While building it, I spoke with private investigators and other users who rely on discreet recording tools in real-world situations. Their feedback helped shape many of the features included today, such as timestamps, custom recording triggers (double-tap or two-finger tap), audio recording, Action Button support, a private gallery, and protection against accidental recording stops.
Today, QuietCam is used by more than 3,400+ users and has earned 24 App Store reviews with an average rating of 4.2★. Try for free with 3 days trial.
I’d be happy to answer any questions about the product, App Store marketing, Apple Search Ads, indie development, or building apps as a solo founder.

QuietCam was hunted by Paweł Chmiel. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
