QSenda is an offline optical file transfer app that sends files through animated QR codes. No internet, account, Bluetooth pairing, or shared network is required. Choose a file, display the QR stream, and scan it with another device. QSenda reassembles the file and verifies its integrity with SHA-256. Built in part from Decimen Optical Transfer v0.3.0 under the MIT License.

Top comment

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built QSenda to explore a different way of transferring files between devices: using the screen and camera instead of a network connection. QSenda converts a file into an animated QR stream. The receiving device scans the stream, reconstructs the file, and verifies it with SHA-256 before completion. There’s no account, cloud upload, Bluetooth pairing, or shared Wi-Fi network required. Select a file, show the QR stream, and scan it from another device. QSenda currently supports Android receiving, with sending also designed to work from larger screens such as desktops. The optical transfer technology is built in part from Decimen Optical Transfer v0.3.0 under the MIT License, with further development and optimization for QSenda. I’d especially appreciate feedback on: • transfer speed and reliability • different Android devices and cameras • the overall send/receive experience • situations where an offline optical transfer method would be useful Thanks for checking out QSenda.
