QRX
Art QR codes that always scan, from a prompt and a link
Describe a picture, or start from your own, and add a link. QRX paints a QR code into the art and decodes it before you get it, so it scans. Hosted qrx.to links can be re-pointed later on a paid plan. Also in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor via MCP.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Matt, one of the makers of QRX. We first launched QRX here in 2023 as QRX Codes. It has been rebuilt since, so we're back to show you what's new.
What it is: you describe a picture, or upload your own, and give it a link, and QRX paints a working QR code into the artwork. QR codes were only ever meant for machines. With QRX you can tell where a code leads just by looking at it: a photo of a dish on a café menu that adds it to your order, or a sign whose code is built from a picture of the jet ski you sell.
What's new since 2023:
- A new image engine.
- Every code is decoded by machine before you see it. AI QR art has a reputation for looking great and not scanning; if a QRX code doesn't read, you don't get it.
- Codes from your own picture: a photo, an illustration or a piece of artwork.
- Variations, over the API and MCP: ask for "make it night time" and get a new code that opens the same destination.
- A remote MCP server (https://qrx.codes/mcp, sign in with your QRX account), so you can make codes from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients, plus a Claude Code plugin and a REST API with an OpenAPI spec. Setup snippets are in the GitHub repo: https://github.com/qrxcodes/qrx-mcp
Codes point at a hosted qrx.to short link, so on a paid plan you can change where a printed code goes without reprinting it.
Pricing: free to start, and your first codes need no account; plans are on qrx.codes.
Generation usually takes under a minute because it runs on a GPU and checks the result, so give it a moment.
We'd love your feedback: which styles you want next, where the codes didn't suit your print job, and what you'd want from the API. I'll be here all day answering questions.

Who hunted QRX?
QRX was hunted by Matt Davies. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
