Social media rarely makes me laugh anymore. Some hardy and fully unsuspecting stranger must be falling down a flight of icey steps timed perfectly to the beat of a mainstream TikTok song - to even crack a smile on me these days.
But real life - that shit is dark and yet somehow hilarious. When someone makes me burst out laughing, I want to bottle that feeling up and return to it. Because god knows I’ll need to when my monthly PMS (Perimenopause? Both??) hits.
Enter: qb. A way to store, organize, share, and return to the best parts of real life.
Don’t you want to revisit that moment your daughter called you “big back” in front of everyone when you grabbed a second slice of cake? Of course yes.
I created qb with my remaining 3 braincells/what is left of my 2009 MIS degree because I had been using the iPhone notepad app for 10+ years at this point. It was barely searchable, completely unorganized, and has no discreet sharing method.
With qb, I can group quotes by book (my softball team book has some absolute bangers atm), person, and family. When my husband adds a quote I missed from either of our kids, qb alerts me to how much fun they're having without me. When it's my daughters birthday, qb does a "Spotify Wrapped" to show me her (largely disparaging) quotes from the past year.
Prior to building qb, I used to CRAWL through my notepad to find all my husband's quotes for the previous year (mixed in with everyone else's) and share that list with him as a small birthday gift. Now, qb does this instantly. We have such a blast revisiting hilarious moments from the past. qb is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
My END goal is to connect qb to something like Mixbook to auto-generate quick, simple physical books of quotes to gift - by occasion, year, person, etc :)
