Backstory: Omegle shut down in 2023 and nothing since has scratched the same itch — most "alternatives" are either bot farms or dating apps wearing a chat UI.
Purrlyne is the version I wanted: type an interest (optional), hit Next, talk to someone new. Or skip the 1-on-1 entirely and hang out in a themed public room. No feed, no algorithm deciding who you should want to talk to.
Free, works in-browser, real moderation (a person reviews reports, not just a keyword filter). Would love to hear what's missing compared to what you used to use.
