I've spent years on the investor side, and I've opened a lot of data rooms. The pattern is always the same: founder sends a link, and from there the round runs on memory. Who read what, who's actually in diligence, which follow-ups and materials are still outstanding. Everyone knows they should be running a process, but it's tedious, and it lands exactly when you have the least time. So the round stops being a process and becomes a pile of half-remembered threads.

At some point, we (founders) have settled for a mediocre fundraising experience. Earlier this year, I was blowing hundreds of dollars on a glorified Google drive (cough cough docsend). The rest of our fundraising process was run old-school: out of a massive excel sheet.
At a fraction of the cost, Pulse became not just our data room, but the pre-frontal cortex of our raise. The only truly useful, albeit superficial, feature of Docsend was tracking how many seconds VCs spent on each slide, and Pulse is pushing the envelope in this exact direction.
