I built Puffins because I was tired of watching people — smart, genuine, interesting people — get completely invisible on dating apps because they didn't have the right set of photos for the algorithm. Plus, it felt incredibly shallow to judge someone primarily on 5 photos.
Dating apps commodised human connection. Swipe right, swipe left, move on. People give up, convince themselves something is wrong with them, and downloads another app that works exactly the same way.
Approaching people on public follows the same principle. Sure, they might be cute, but are they the right fit for you?
The real tragedy is that the people getting left behind often have the most to offer. You can't communicate a personality over a couple of generic prompts.
So we removed all those restrictions for you!
