I built ProTileCalc because I was tired of "black box" material calculators that spit out a number without telling you how they got it. When you're ordering expensive tile, grout, and thinset, a 15% error can halt a project or waste hundreds of dollars.
ProTileCalc is a suite of free estimating tools that actually "shows its work."
🛠️ What it does:
Tile: Calculates area, boxes needed, and applies specific waste factors (e.g., +15% for Herringbone).
Grout: Calculates by weight using TCNA industry-standard formulas for sanded, unsanded, and epoxy.
Thinset: Coverage based on specific trowel notch sizes.
I built this to be fast, ad-free, and fully transparent—every result displays the exact formula used.

Does the waste factor calculation account for the extra cuts needed at corners or around odd-shaped rooms, or is it purely a flat percentage based on total square footage?
The fact that you show the governing TCNA formula alongside each result is such a breath of fresh air. Way too many calculators expect you to just trust the number, and contractors especially need to verify the math before quoting a job.
