ProteinPayment
Indian protein payment guide. 18 languages, $0/mo.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
Three months ago I was trying to figure out whether to use LazyPay
or credit card EMI for my own MyProtein subscription. Couldn't
find a single comparison site. So I built one.
What's interesting technically:
- Hugo static site
- Cloudflare Pages hosting
- Workers AI (@cf/meta/m2m100-1.2b) does the translation
- KV cache keeps things fast
- Zero servers, $0/mo infra
Current state (3 months in):
- 227 pages
- 18 languages (en, hi, es, pt, id, zh, ja, ko, ar, fr, de, ru...)
- ~100 weekly visits (mostly direct, SEO is work in progress)
- 0.2% CTR on Google (work to do)
- $0 revenue (Amazon affiliate links live but minimal volume)
- 5 GitHub stars, 1 newsletter signup
What I learned:
- Niche content sites can work but SEO is the bottleneck
- m2m100 is good for Hindi but bad for short text (nav items)
- Open source gets very little attention without marketing
What I'd love feedback on:
- SEO strategy for niche content targeting diaspora
- Distribution without paid ads
- Whether to pivot to B2B (translation-as-a-service) vs continue B2C
