Promptly is a notes app built around one field. Write a line and it files itself where you left off, or send it elsewhere with @notebook and #topic as you type. Pull down and you're in the notebook. Topics connect notes across notebooks, the timeline shows every day at a glance, and Ask answers from your own notes using Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Turn any notebook or topic into a prompt for any AI, names swapped out. Works with Siri and Shortcuts. No account. Free, with one-time Pro.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built Promptly out of frustration. For years my notes were split across too many apps: one for meetings, another for ideas, a doc per project, reminders somewhere else. There was never a single place to put something down. Capturing a thought meant first deciding where it belonged, and by the time I'd decided, half of it was gone. Getting it back was worse. Recall was never quick, and the things I actually needed, what kept coming up across meetings, who I owed what, what we'd decided three weeks ago, were scattered across documents that never talked to each other. On a day of back-to-back meetings, the patterns were there in my notes. I just couldn't see them. So I built the app I wanted: one field, nothing to decide, and everything connected afterwards. ✍️ One field, always ready Write a line and send it. It files itself in the notebook you were last writing in. Type @Roadmap or #pricing anywhere in the sentence to send it somewhere else. Open it from Control Centre, the Lock Screen or the Action Button, so a note can be written before the screen is properly on. ⬇️ Pull down, and you're in the notebook Pull the writing field down and the notebook your note went into rises underneath, already filed under today. 🧵 See the patterns Topics connect notes across notebooks: tag #hiring in four places and its page gathers all four, by day. The timeline shows every notebook one day at a time. And during a meeting, Promptly can match the event in your calendar to the right notebook, so notes land where they belong without you choosing. 🧠 Apple's on-device Foundation Models Ask a question in plain words and Promptly answers from your own notes, showing exactly which notes it used. It also suggests topics, catches you up on what moved, reads screenshots into separate notes, and writes a recap you can send. All of it runs on the model built into your device. Nothing is uploaded, and none of it trains on your notes. 🗣️ Siri and Shortcuts Say "Write in Promptly" and Siri asks what to write, then files it without opening the app. Say "Ask my Promptly notes" and the answer is read back to you. Every note is findable from Spotlight, and writing, finding and asking are all in Shortcuts. 🤖 Turn notes into a prompt Pick a notebook or topic, choose what it's for (catch me up, what's still open, draft the follow-up) and Promptly writes it out as a prompt for any AI chat. Names are swapped out by default (Priya becomes Person B), you see every word before you copy it, and the key that links names back never leaves your phone. Promptly never sends it anywhere. ✨ Built for iOS 27 Liquid Glass throughout, designed for iPhone, iPad with two columns, Mac and Apple Watch. It still runs on iOS 18 and later. 🔒 Private by design No account, and no server of ours. Your notes live on your device and in your own iCloud, and export as plain JSON whenever you like. Bring your Apple Notes across with the share sheet or a free Mac import tool. 💛 Free, with one-time Pro Capture, filing, topics, the timeline, Ask, sync, export and making a prompt are free and stay free. Pro is a single purchase, not a subscription, and adds a brief before each meeting (on your Lock Screen, too), a page for every person you write about, and Handoff between devices. I'd love to hear how you take notes today and what still gets in your way. I'll be here all day answering every comment.
