Product Hunt

We're launching a new set of product category pages, which combine our Shoutouts data (which products are loved by the top builders) and Product Landscape articles written by top founders who are experts in their fields.

Product Hunt is indispensable as the place to see what's new, but with the introduction of Shoutouts (the products that power top launches), Product Hunt now has an incredible dataset of which products are most loved (20,000 Shoutouts and counting). But the data is only a piece of the puzzle — to really make a call on which product to try or buy, you need to understand that product's category. We asked ourselves: Who are the absolute best people to paint the landscape of a product category. More often than not, they're active founders. We asked them if they'd be up for making a truly exceptional product landscape overview - not the SEO grift that's so common. They over-delivered. Our inaugural set of Product Landscapes: Data Analysis - Barry McCardel (CEO of Hex) @barrald Security and Compliance - Christina Cacioppo (CEO of Vanta) @christinacaci AI Infra - Kwindla Kramer (CEO of Daily) @kwindla SEO Tools - Nate Matherson (CEO of Positional) @nate_matherson2 Video Conferencing - me! (former CEO of Tandem) Notion Templates - Ben Lang (former growth at Notion) @benln Hiring Software - Max Kolysh (CEO at Dover) @max_kolysh Online Banking - Immad Akhund (CEO at Mercury) @immad AI Databases - Davit Buniatyan (CEO at Activeloop) @david_buniatyan AI Notetakers - Richard White (CEO at Fathom) @richard_white Check them out, send them to a friend who's looking into one of these categories, and let us know what you think!

Thanks for sharing this! I’m looking forward to exploring the new categories and discovering valuable tools.

A friend of mine was looking for tools in the AI notetaker space, and this overview seems perfect for them. I’m definitely sharing this

I noticed the video links on some pages aren't working properly. Might want to check on that!

I'm fairly new to PH and have been using Category pages to discover new tools and products that I could potentially use for my launch and I find the addition of Overviews super useful in narrowing down my picks! Curious if there are plans to have any expert articles for 'Design Tools' and 'No-code Platforms' categories? I was struggling to pick between Webflow, Framer and a few other tools for my site and ended up trying all of them before deciding on one. I'm sure such articles would be a huge time-saver! 🙌🏻

Wow, this Shoutouts feature looks pretty slick! It's like a digital high-five for the tech world. I love how it's giving credit where credit is due and showing the interconnectedness of the startup ecosystem. That being said, I've got a few thoughts on how to make it even better: 1. How about a "Shoutout Hall of Fame" for products that consistently get the most love? It could be like the cool kids' table of the tech world. 2. Maybe add a feature where users can upvote shoutouts they agree with? It could help surface the most impactful tools. 3. What if there was a way to filter launches by the tools they used? Could be super helpful for folks looking to build similar products. 4. A little birdie told me some other platforms have tried similar features, but they often end up feeling like a popularity contest. How about adding a brief explanation requirement for each shoutout to keep it genuine? 5. Lastly, and I'm just spitballing here, but what if there was a "Shoutout Challenge" where users have to guess which tools were used in a launch? Could be a fun way to engage the community and learn about new tools. Keep up the great work, Product Hunt team! You're making the tech world a friendlier place, one shoutout at a time. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go shout out to my coffee maker for making this comment possible.
